IR Legal is pleased to welcome Rory Lang as Consulting Principal.

Rory is a highly regarded business lawyer with more than 15 years’ experience advising across Australia and internationally on corporate and commercial law, complex transactions, mergers and acquisitions, employment matters, energy and resources, and dispute resolution. His strategic, commercially grounded approach and breadth of industry exposure make him a valuable addition to our consulting team.

Rory has held senior legal positions in Australia and internationally with leading Australian and U.S. law firms, including Duane Morris LLP and MinterEllison LLP. During his career, he has also worked as senior legal counsel in-house on secondment with major international resources organisations, including Rio Tinto and Gold Fields, as well as with the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council.

He is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the Federal and High Courts of Australia, and holds advanced qualifications in mining, energy, and commercial law from the University of Western Australia, along with postgraduate legal training from the Australian National University and undergraduate degrees from the University of Notre Dame Australia.

Beyond legal practice, Rory is widely published, recognised for his pro bono contributions, and has served as a director and charity committee chair with AustCham Mongolia. He remains active within the professional community as a member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce Mongolia and the Law Society of Western Australia.
