IR Legal is pleased to welcome Joshua Brown as Senior Consultant, strengthening the firm’s capabilities across construction, contract, and commercial law.

Joshua is an experienced legal professional widely recognised as “The Contractors’ Contract Lawyer”, bringing deep expertise in construction law, procurement, and commercial negotiation. He advises clients across complex contractual and regulatory environments, with a practical, commercially focused approach that balances legal risk with business opportunity.

Educated at the Queensland University of Technology, Joshua completed his Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice before being admitted as a solicitor in Queensland. His career spans senior leadership roles including General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer, where he has provided strategic legal guidance across the construction, procurement, financial services, and insurance sectors.

Joshua’s areas of practice include:

• Corporate & Commercial Law

• Contract Law

He has a particular focus on contract and commercial negotiation, construction disputes, privacy, and competition law, and is known for delivering clear, commercially astute advice tailored to the realities of operating in high-risk, fast-moving industries.

Outside of practice, Joshua enjoys travelling, staying active, and spending time with his wife and daughter. A passionate follower of both the NBA and NRL, he brings the same energy, discipline, and strategic mindset to his legal work as he does to the court and the field.
