IR Legal Welcomes Rufus Gandhi as Senior Consultant

IR Legal is pleased to announce the appointment of Rufus Gandhi as Senior Consultant, further strengthening the firm’s expertise across corporate and commercial law, construction law, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.

Born and educated in London, Rufus is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and Australia (Queensland). He began his legal career in London and has since gained extensive international experience, including roles in New York, Los Angeles, Singapore and Aberdeen, before relocating to Australia. Throughout his career, Rufus has held senior in-house and advisory positions, including General Counsel, Company Secretary and Commercial Manager, across major infrastructure, energy and resources projects.

Rufus brings significant experience in corporate governance, commercial and construction law, mergers and acquisitions and complex project delivery frameworks. He has advised on high-value transactions and risk allocation under Construct Only, Design & Construct (D&C) and EPC contracting models, supporting clients on strategically important and technically complex matters.

Rufus provides comprehensive corporate and commercial legal services, including contract negotiation and drafting, corporate governance and secretarial matters, procurement and project advisory, mergers and acquisitions, energy and resources projects, commercial dispute resolution and regulatory compliance. He is highly experienced in bridging legal, commercial and delivery teams to align governance, risk and procurement frameworks and has led claims management, procurement strategy and contract administration for large, multi-party infrastructure programs.

Rufus holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University College London, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Corporate Governance and Risk from the Governance Institute of Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
