Karina McDougall is a senior solicitor with more than 22 years' experience practising in the areas of commercial law, intellectual property, franchising, compliance, dispute resolution, and commercial and general litigation.

Karina’s broad experience includes acting on a range of matters, for clients of all kinds and sizes, and in firms ranging from top-tier law firms to suburban practice. Additionally, Karina has also previously worked as a senior legal advisor in-house for a national finance company and a well-known technology company, and in the latter role was appointed as the organisation’s ANZ Privacy Officer.

Karina offers clients a range of high-quality legal services to meet many different needs. She is highly experienced in commercial, general and insurance litigation, as well alternative dispute resolution including claim demands, settlement negotiations, conciliation and mediation.

Karina is also skilled in drafting and negotiating all kinds of commercial contracts, franchising and IP licensing agreements, as well as other documents including website and application terms, privacy statements, policies and procedures.

To help businesses comply with legal obligations Karina offers clients sensible, informative and commercial advice and solutions. She has had experience acting for clients in response to various government regulators and has delivered training and robust compliance programs for trade practices, anti-money laundering and privacy laws.

Karina puts emphasis on formulating sound legal strategies and solutions with a practical and commercial focus in order to consistently produce both exceptional results and significant cost-savings for her clients. Karina holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) from The University of Technology Sydney, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, and a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice.She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
